As you might have found out already I love weddings and not just the dresses; the cake, the dancing, the tears and all the bits and pieces that make a day personal for each couple. Adding a theme to your wedding doesn’t mean having everyone dresses in black and white or fancy dress for a particular style, its about tying everything together, so the day and everything in the day flows and feels connected.
What wedding themes are hot for 2014?
2014 is all about organic and going green with your wedding and not just for ethical or political reasons. A natural wedding theme with a warm and friendly rustic country look can be eco-friendly as well as stylish too.
Think getting married outdoors, in a barn, woodland or botanical gardens – all great locations for your wedding photos. Add details with organic fabrics for table linens and even your invitations.
Wedding favor’s can be handmade: plants that can then be grown at home and presented in recycled packing, small jars of home-made jam or even home-made soaps. For the ultimate touch cover the ground in colourful rose petals – looks and smells amazing.
Do something symbolic…
Another hot trend for weddings in 2014 is doing something symbolic:
- The Sands of Time – The bride and groom take it in turns to pour coloured sand into a beautiful keepsake glass vase to symbolise the joining of two people in marriage – great for a seaside wedding.
- Chinese lanterns – A beautiful symbolic finale to your reception. Guests can write their wishes on each lantern before you send them up into the sky in a visual display of light.
If you are getting married in 2014 then it’s time to think natural and go green. I can’t wait to see the finer details of all the brides that we are dressing in 2014.
