Nicola wears Jesus Peiro 7007

Our wedding today features the lovely Nicola wearing a custom Jesus Peiro dress. Nicola was just a delight from start to finish, she knew she wanted a ankle length dress but didn’t know what style. We don’t actual stock any Ankle length dresses at The Bridal Boutique but we work with designers who will customise dresses for us. Lace just seamed to drown Nicola so we decided to try on a the Satin Jesus Peiro dress which just took our breath away the moment Nicola stepped out wearing it. Nicola tells you all about her wedding day below.

Scott proposed in the Maldives on Halloween 2016! We had some time in Dubai before we arrived in the Maldives, and Scott told me afterwards that he had planned to propose at the top of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, as we had booked to have cocktails there and watch the sunset, however, when we got to the top, he felt a bit faint from the height so quickly decided against it. Halloween was our last evening in the Maldives, we were having a drink before dinner in a bar which was looking out to the ocean, there were lots of stars in the sky, it was beautiful! He asked me what my thoughts were on getting married, to which I replied ‘are you asking me or are we just having a conversation about it’ & he said ‘I’m asking you’. I instantly cried and said yes.

We got married at All Saints Church in Bromsgrove which is about a mile from our house and the church my parents got married in. We had our reception at Fazeley Studios in Birmingham, it was only the 2nd place we looked at and we loved it, something a bit different & certainly not what you expect when you walk in from the street. There were only a few dates still available in 2017 so we chose 22nd July 2017.

Our wedding day was beautiful, to marry Scott & have all of our friends & family together in one place was just amazing.  I (with the help of friends & family) did all of the decorations, from table centre pieces to sewing 120 hessian & lace chair bows.  The colours were all neutrals, whites & greens for flowers (Lili Floral Art – http://www.lilifloralart.com) with a rustic feel overall, the log slices were from Scotts parents garden & the pallet we used was one that my dad saved from a skip!

Dan Greenaway (http://www.dangreenaway.com) played acoustic guitar and sang at Fazeley Studio’s during the drinks reception and after the wedding breakfast, he was fantastic, such a talent and added to the atmosphere of the day, he is an old school friend of both of ours so it was lovely to have him there on the day as well. We had a live band in the evening (The Groove Monkeys) who were brilliant, and after our first dance (to ‘Ive got my mind set on you’ by James Ray), we had the most fantastic party!

A friend had recommended the wedding blog ‘Rock My Wedding’ which is how I found The Bridal Boutique. It was the second shop we visited and although I knew I wanted an ankle length dress, I didn’t really know what style I was looking for. Madi picked out a Jesus Piero dress for me to try on which I wouldn’t have chosen myself, but when I tried it on, I loved it & after leaving the shop and trying on more dresses in other shops, my mind kept coming back to the Jesus Piero dress. That was the dress. After ordering the dress, the girls at The Bridal Boutique helped me to find a birdcage veil which is what I always thought I would have. I have a big love of shoes, so couldn’t have chosen anything other than blue Manolos to get married in!

My lovely bridesmaids wore dresses from True bridesmaids, all in ballet pink but different styles, three in long chiffon dresses & three in seperates, tulle skirts & lace and sequin tops. I loved all of these styles as soon as I saw them.  Our hair was done by Vicki Jeffries (my cousin!) & Charlotte, the owner of Giinger Boutique, Bromsgrove (https://www.facebook.com/Giinger-Boutique), who were both amazing, and made everyone feel so relaxed on the wedding morning.  Our make-up was done by my super talented friends Maria Gorman and Andi Deakin, just fantastic make-up artists and couldn’t recommend them enough.

Our photographer was Simon Litherland (http://www.litherlandphotography.co.uk) who is such a talent and did such a great job to make sure we got all of the photographs we wanted.

Thank you Nicola and Scott for letting us feature your amazing wedding

Madi x
