Kat marries her love in Eliza Jane Howell

‘Beautiful Kat what can we say about you, always a joy to have in the boutique and took the whole pandemic in her stride. Getting married is meant to be about you and your partner and Kat really got this, the marriage is the most important part. Love is Love”

Our wedding was based in park farm in Daventry. We really liked the fact it was dry hire so we could put our own stamp on it. It was a beautiful rustic venue and as it was a farm lots of sheep were around which are our favourite animals! They made some great photos! We also liked the fact there was accommodation  on site

Tell me about your dress?

What made me pick my dress was how unique it was, it was so comfortable and the reaction of my family who I brought dress shopping with me was amazing to see. Your colleague also said how great it looked on me too! The detail on it was really something.

Dress shopping was really fun. It was nice to have a day ‘all about you’ and explore different styles and designs, and speak to those working in the shop for their advice about weddings.

How did he pop the big question?

My now husband actually proposed when we were in bed in the morning! He rolled out of bed got on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was so special and perfect for us as a couple. It was lovely that he did it in the morning as well because we were celebrating all day and night.

Tell me about your day?

Our day was heavily styled around nature. I love anything to do with nature and green is my favourite colour so I went for dark green bridesmaid dresses. Luke is half South African so for a touch of this we went for bold  protea flowers. Our florist was amazing – we had so many compliments about our flowers. We were also lucky enough to get married outside under a tree which was decorated with hanging vases and some ivory fabric – I’ll let the photos do the talking! In terms of styling myself I let the hair dresser and MUA be the pros. I just asked for my hair down with loose waves, the front out of my face! And make up I asked to look natural but as though wearing something. I wanted to look like myself.

Pandamic advice

My advice to brides now – having been through 2 postponements in the middle of a pandemic! – is remember the day is about the two of you and your love for each other. It will all come together so try not to agonise over every little detail and leave the suppliers to do what they do best! Enjoy the process!
